Moonrise Wellness and Performance
Meet Melanie
I’ll help keep your body working even on your busiest weeks.
Melanie Munoz
I grew up in the mountains of West Virginia, where my passion for movement and competition began early. From a young age, I competed in cross country and track for over 8 years, building a foundation of discipline, resilience, and a deep appreciation for the human body’s capabilities.
After relocating to Greenville, North Carolina, I pursued my education in massage therapy and health sciences, setting the stage for a career dedicated to helping others move better, feel better, and perform at their best.
Now with over 13 years as a licensed massage therapist and 8 years as a NASM certified personal trainer and nutrition coach, I specialize in blending bodywork and functional training to support recovery, performance, and overall well-being.
My massage therapy practice includes a wide range of techniques, such as:
- Sports Massage
- Therapeutic & Myofascial Release
- Deep Tissue
- Lymphatic Drainage
- Kinesiology Taping
- Graston Technique
- Trigger Point Therapy
- Swedish Massage
- Pre & Postnatal Massage
In 2024, I worked as a Rehab and Strength Coach at Wellsport, collaborating with clients through injury recovery, post-surgical rehab, and high-level athletic conditioning. That role strengthened my clinical perspective and enhanced my ability to guide clients from rehab to full performance.
Over the years, I’ve had the honor of working with professional football, basketball, and baseball players, as well as elite swimmers, cyclists, runners, dancers, and countless everyday athletes. My approach is always client focused and results driven tailored to each person’s body, goals, and journey.
As an athlete myself, I bring personal experience to my practice. I’ve competed in over 30 triathlons, including a 70.3 Half Ironman, and was proud to race in the XTERRA Trail Run World Championship (21K) Hawaii in 2016. I’ve qualified for and competed in national level triathlon races (Sprint and Olympic distance) four times, and in 2024, I earned the title of Texas State Champion for my age group. I recently completed my first Full Ironman, on November 1st, 2025.
Whether you’re striving for athletic excellence, recovering from injury, or simply seeking to feel your best, my goal is to support your performance, healing, and longevity through movement, massage, and personalized care.
Not Sure Where to Begin?
My Philosophy
By integrating bodywork and strength training into a single, intentional approach, we can help people move better, train with clarity, and reduce the friction that keeps them from feeling capable in their own body.
This work isn’t about fixing you. It’s about giving your body the support it needs to adapt, recover, and perform consistently, in real life.
